WHAT DO YOU THINK?
1. I have not had much personal experience with politics besides the debates in a classroom or the occasional "president" talk with adults. I have lived through some elections now and still I am do not have a strong stance for which side I am for. I will say that my dad has had the greatest influence on my political attitudes.
2. My family has has had the greatest affect on my political attitudes, especially my father. I grew a democrat, there really has not been much argument over it though. I mean, my family has always been democratic and I have to say that I am not fully capable of explaining why I am a democrat, but just that I have not learned anything else or took that much interest in the area.
CHOOSE A QUESTION.
2. The federal government should do more to save the environment. The environment is essential to human existence. The fed. gov't should pass more laws that protect our environment and also pass laws to better the environment. The people though, do not need laws to help the environment. The environment will be destroyed or protected only by the people's will.

  1. do you feel that the biggest problem in this world is the environment? How about my social security that wont be there for me when i need it..How about the $146.19 that i will never see again. What about your health coverage? Environment needs some help.. but when your sitting in a hospital bed with cancer and the govt. doesnt want to cover you cause your a worthness cause... i'm sure you'll be saying "If only We had saved the environment".

  2. Justin, I too am concerned about my social security (although you sometimes seem less concerned with other peoples' security in the present, for example regarding health care). But, what about the environment? By the time you retire, if we do not shrink our carbon footprint and adopt renewable energy, then rising costs, refugee problems, climate and ecosystem change, mass extinctions, and so on will be a much greater concern to us in 50 years than whether our social security has been spent. (Now especially if we continue to cut taxes and increase spending... Then we'll be in trouble even sooner!) There is no higher priority than the environment. If we don't deal with that, all these other issues will be distant memories and the kinds of problems we wish we had! (Hope that made sense)

It is not that the environmental problems do not concern me. You are right, in the big picture all will end if the environment is not better taken care of. As far as most of our conversations go, environment is rarely brought up i feel. Tops such as health care and social security are much easier to debate about because everyone wants environment change. We all except green is the way to go. i would simply like to debate rather than stray away from what we normally speak of on a daily basis. its soo much more fun that way.
